Wonderful campground .. hidden gem. Visited here 3 times this year and family had a great time. Warm, friendly staff who were always willing to help. Bathrooms could use updating, but everything else made up for it.
Nice family camp ground .... We normally camp at Pocahontas state park .. my family enjoyed this place very much .. and it is more affordable .. bathrooms were clean and for being outside, campground bathrooms, it was what one should expect. Although some fresh paint would not hurt. The two gals that run the park were very nice and willing to help .. they delivered fire wood and ice right to our lot, long after the store was closed .. We will be back for sure!
Great family campground. I love that they have live music on holiday weekends. It's a fantastic place to hang out with great access to the lake. The on site boat ramp is very convenient as well. Never had a bad experience!
Please, if you stay at this campground, keep your small pet near you at all times. I do not want any other families to go through the pain of losing a pet in such a horrific manner.
BEWARE! I had used this campground for a little over a year. The law states that all dogs should be on a leash or restrained. A little over a week ago, I was at a gathering at the campground's store and my little 5 pound Pom-a-Poo was being held by a friend when the owner's dog viciously attacked my little dog, breaking her neck and killing her. The owner has been contacted asking for restitution and an apology none of which has been received. The owner had her sister, Marie, call my representation (also my daughter) and called her every name in the book and when asked how they would like to resolve the situation, Marie continued to swear at my daughter. At this point, my daughter hung up because it was clear that the campground has no intention of making this situation right.
It should also be noted that this dog had attacked another dog the year prior and the owner reacted by removing that couple from the campground.
Had a lovely time over the Labor Day weekend. Very family oriented and the people out there are very nice. The park was very pretty and reminded me of campgrounds we used to stay on when I was a kid. We took our grandchildren, and they really had fun, and did not want to leave. We will definitely be back!
